No sharks in the bog--that's what brought me to Joshua Pond. Scared off by reports of Great Whites patrolling local beaches, I was starting to feel a bit dried out.

With its lily-pads and sunfish and the clearest spring water in Massachusetts, Joshua Pond revealed what I had not thought to look for. Not even rumors of snapping turtles could keep me out.
